Lists of locations, props, models
Main Cover -
- Main image has no background or props, as I wanted to keep it simple, but effective by making the reader focus purely on the band. I chose to use those 3 particular models as they suited each other as a band, but also had a particular look about them which I was looking for.
- Cover image at the bottom - set in a music room, prop used was a piano. I chose this prop as I thought it suited who the model was collaborating with - Amy Lee, who uses piano in a lot of her songs, which my target audience would be-able to relate to and already know. But also it fills out the photo, leaving less empty space. I also chose the model because of her age, as I was looking for a college student to feature in the photo.
Contents Page -
- Location is just against a solid colored wall.
- Props used were a phone being held, and backpack - these were used to try and make the image less formal, and more inviting, as if he's inviting you to read on further. But also I used a slightly low angle close-up, so the photo really stands out, and the reader can get an insight as to the type of person they are, and would be enticed to read on further about the person on following pages.
- I chose the model to fit the story for that particular person, of an upcoming young drummer, rising into stardom and fame.
Double page spread -
- Location were on a set of stairs, and a black wall, as I didn't want the background to take away from the models too much, as they were the focus of the photograph, but also the contents of the double page spread.
- Props used were a microphone and stand. These were used to try and give an idea as to who they were, and what they do. Also giving the image a little extra something that would catch the readers eye, tempting them to read the article.
- Models choice was due to the fact that my article was about the band on the front cover, therefore I had to use the same models. But this time their stance and gestures are more welcoming and friendly, playing around and slightly silly, to make the reader smile and not get bored by the feeling of it all being really formal and serious.
